Nike and StockX have reached a settlement in their three-year legal battle over trademark infringement claims related to sneaker-linked NFTs. The agreement, finalized in late August 2025, dismisses all claims with prejudice and cancels a scheduled jury trial. This marks a pivotal moment for intellectual property rights in the blockchain space.

The dispute centered on StockX's Vault NFTs, which featured images of Nike sneakers. Nike alleged these tokens misled consumers about official collaboration, while StockX maintained they merely represented ownership of physical sneakers. A March 2025 court ruling found StockX liable for selling counterfeit Nike products, strengthening the sportswear giant's position.

The quiet resolution avoids setting a formal legal precedent but sends a clear signal to NFT platforms about trademark boundaries. As digital collectibles evolve, brand owners are increasingly asserting control over how their intellectual property appears on blockchain networks.
